“I can’t recommend Richard and KC Pet Search and Rescue enough!!! Our cat had been missing for 17 days. We contacted them after day 4 and they responded back right away! Richard came out and explained everything and walked us through the process. He was responsive, attentive and went above and beyond! He came out multiple times to help us and find other places to move the trap due to all the weather we were having. Just last night we spoke again about the next steps since it had been 17 days. Well I’m happy to say it helped because our kitty is home and happy with us tonight! Richard was the first call I made when he was spotted and he walked me through how to get him safely. “Most amazing company. My indoor cat got outside and did not come back. I contacted Jay, a former Marine and owner of KC Pet Search and Rescue and he sent out Richard to my home. Richard was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Set up traps, bait, cameras etc. We were able to see a lot of activity, unfortunately my cat was not one of them. Richard never gave up, was in constant contact and would try various methods. Jay arrived with his thermal drone to do a scan of the neighborhood including the dense wooded area around the house. This provided so much information since you cannot cover that much on foot. This company truly cares about finding your beloved pets. Highly recommend!!”
“After an impressive display of intelligence from one of my cats allowed my... less intelligent cat to escape, I was in an absolute panic after failing to catch my 6-year-old indoor-only cat myself. I called KC Pet Search & Rescue early the next morning. In just a couple of hours, Richard was at my door walking me through the best plan to recapture my buddy. He went above and beyond anything I expected with the level of prep and compassion he showed. In less than 24 hours after his initial escape, Marko was safely inside. I truly believe acting swiftly was the key to getting Marko back inside so quickly and unharmed.”
“BIG MASSIVE SHOUT OUT to KC Pet Search & Rescue!!!! A couple days ago Sharon and Catherine’s dog Callie got out and I can’t tell you how many hours we spent looking for her hoping her Apple AirTag would ping, but for two days straight it stayed stagnant. Callie is a 7-year-old rescue who is so skittish and only about 10 pounds. The fact that she survived the elements and potential predators is a miracle!!!! There is absolutely no way we would have been able to find her without KC Pet Search & Rescue!!! We cannot recommend Jay and this company more. With the World Cup around the corner, who knows what loud noises or activities will spook your pet and they could be gone! It was awesome seeing all the gear he uses to bring families’ fur babies home safe and sound!!!! Jay couldn’t be kinder and more professional. “My baby boy Peanut was missing 5 days at the point we found and hired Jay and his partner. We had done everything looking for Peanut. Jay and his partner came out and my husband and I hopped in the truck around 11:30 PM while Jay flew around the neighborhood looking for Peanut and we watched on the large screen in the truck. He explained how it worked when I first spoke with him in great detail. It was very informative, and even while the search was going he would still explain what the drone was picking up and was very kind and caring throughout the whole process. I will say it did not work out for us, but that’s because someone had already picked him up the day before when he was struck by a car in Sugar Creek. Luckily, Peanut only had some cuts and bruises. Peanut was found about .4 miles from where we were searching with the drone. Would definitely recommend this service! I just wish we did it day one!!!!”
“This company is amazing and amazing to work with!! Jay is amazing!! So is Richard, definitely my heroes for sure, especially when it comes to my animals!! My cat got out and he has no claws. I was really upset. I was recommended by someone on Facebook and gave them a call, and the same day they were out here ready to help get my cat home!!! They communicate with you through the whole process and are always there if you need help with anything. It took 1 week for my cat to finally get in the trap. I couldn’t have done it without their help! Richard was also a huge help with everything! I highly recommend them if your pet is lost. I know I’m definitely saving their number just in case. They also have a camera the whole time so you can see all the activity while trying to get your cat. “I live in Northland Kansas City. My cat Bryant went missing for a day, and we thought that it had been a while and he could’ve gone anywhere. I didn’t give up hope just yet, but I felt like we were not going to be able to find him alone. I found JOCO Pet Search and Rescue online and thought that if we didn’t find him by the morning, we would reach out for help. I kept looking through the website and found that they really care about us finding our pets. They have a list of steps on how to find your cat, and it’s just there for free. “Jay was great. I am from out of town and lost my cat when he jumped out of my car at a gas station. Jay was highly recommended on the lost pet Facebook pages, so I hired him. He was quick to answer my phone call and came as soon as he could the same day. Although we were unable to locate my cat with his drone, he still tried his hardest. JOCO is an amazing emergency animal search and rescue organization who came into our lives at just the right time. On 5/5/26, our sweet cat Koshka pushed out a window screen in our family home and ran right outside and was lost. After endless hours of searching, we were starting to give up hope that our Koshka would come home. That’s when we were recommended the service of JOCO Search and Rescue. “Our cat ran out the door while we were leaving, and unfortunately we didn’t realize for a day and a half that she was missing. My kids and I were completely devastated. I posted on a lost and found page and Jay reached out offering his assistance. He explained his services and we decided we would do anything to find our baby. He came out in the early morning with thermal monoculars and a drone to search the area for our cat. He was not able to find her with his thermal equipment, but offered a ton of advice for ways to get her back home. We did everything he said, and the very next morning she came back to us!
We appreciate all his efforts. I’m not sure if there is anyone else that does cat trapping, but we would use Jay every time. He also offers to lay down traps with our scents to attract a cat. We live in an apartment so we didn’t go forward with that part of the service. I could not recommend him more for finding your furry babies. Jay was so kind and patient. “Jay is my leading hero! My golden puppy got out last night in the frigid dropping temps. He was on the run for about 9 hours. Jay was able to use his services with his drone to detect motion and visuals in the area where Buoy’s AirTag was pinging. He was so kind, patient, and was not going to give up until we got my baby home. He led the men who ended up rescuing him to his location. He saved my family and my puppy!
