A missing pet can travel farther and hide more effectively than most people realize. Ground searches depend heavily on line of sight, while trail cameras and humane traps only work when they are placed in an area the pet is already visiting.

KC Pet Search & Rescue uses professional thermal drones to actively search fields, wooded edges, creek corridors, railroad areas, neighborhoods, and other difficult terrain. Thermal imaging helps us identify heat signatures in darkness and low-light conditions when visual searches are often least effective.

What a Thermal Drone Can Provide

More Than Just a Drone Flight

Finding a heat signature is only one part of recovery. We combine aerial searching with sightings, behavioral analysis, search-area planning, trail cameras, humane traps, and experienced field recovery.

Thermal technology cannot see through roofs, solid structures, or heavy tree canopy, and no recovery method can guarantee that a missing pet will be found. Before recommending a deployment, we evaluate the terrain, weather, temperature, vegetation, sightings, and the pet’s behavior to determine whether a thermal search is likely to provide meaningful information.
