This agreement explains the limited scope, risks, responsibilities, monitoring terms, trapping terms, thermal search limitations, payment terms, and client acknowledgment required before KC Pet Search & Rescue deploys for an attempted cat recovery effort.
This Agreement is entered into voluntarily by the undersigned client (“Client”) and KC Pet Search & Rescue (“KCPSR”) for the purpose of providing limited-scope emergency recovery assistance for a missing domestic cat.
By requesting services, authorizing deployment, submitting payment, accepting a quote, or checking the required acknowledgment box during checkout, the Client acknowledges and agrees to the terms below.
The Client affirms that they are the legal owner of the missing cat or are otherwise authorized by the legal owner to request recovery assistance.
The Client voluntarily requests assistance from KCPSR and acknowledges that all services are limited in scope and cannot guarantee recovery.
KCPSR cat recovery services are primarily designed for missing domestic cats, including indoor-only cats, indoor/outdoor cats, recently escaped cats, cats with confirmed sightings, and cats believed to be hiding or moving within a recoverable area.
Cat recovery may involve one or more of the following, depending on the selected service, field conditions, access, safety, and case details:
KCPSR provides limited-scope cat recovery assistance only. The exact services included depend on the service selected, checkout page, invoice, written quote, or field agreement.
Services may include a thermal search, trap and camera deployment, owner-assisted trapping support, return pattern development, and recovery planning.
KCPSR does not guarantee that the cat will be located, enter the trap, remain in the area, be safely recovered, or return home.
The Client acknowledges that missing cats, especially indoor cats that escape outdoors, may display concealment-based survival behavior and may hide in locations including:
Cats may remain silent and motionless for extended periods. Cats may move primarily during quiet nighttime or early morning hours. The presence of the owner, calling, searching, foot traffic, weather, wildlife, or neighborhood activity may affect movement and recovery behavior.
When included in the selected service, KCPSR may perform a ground-based thermal scan using a handheld thermal monocular or similar equipment.
Ground thermal scanning may be used to inspect concealment areas around the property and nearby search zone, including decks, porches, fence lines, sheds, vehicles, vegetation, drainage areas, crawlspaces, and dark hiding locations.
Thermal equipment detects heat signatures but does not guarantee identification of the missing cat. Heat signatures may come from wildlife, pets, people, objects, building materials, reflected heat, environmental heat sources, or other animals.
When included in the selected service and when legally and operationally permitted, KCPSR may conduct a thermal drone search of surrounding terrain.
Drone search may be limited by FAA regulations, airspace restrictions, weather, visibility, battery limits, terrain, trees, structures, property access, safety, wildlife activity, and local restrictions.
Thermal drone search can help scan larger areas, wooded edges, nearby yards, open terrain, rooftops, drainage corridors, fields, and other surrounding zones, but it cannot guarantee detection, identification, or recovery.
When included in the selected service, KCPSR may deploy a professional humane live trap as part of the recovery strategy.
Trap placement is based on case information such as the last known sighting, escape point, terrain, cat behavior, property layout, concealment areas, scent strategy, feeding pattern, safety, and legal access.
Trap placement is a critical part of the recovery process, but no trap placement, bait, camera, scent strategy, or monitoring system guarantees capture.
When included, KCPSR may install a motion-activated monitoring camera to observe the trap area, surrounding activity, or likely return zone.
The camera may capture motion alerts, animal activity, wildlife, non-target animals, people, weather movement, shadows, vegetation movement, or images of the missing cat.
Camera systems may experience delays, missed triggers, battery issues, cellular signal problems, image quality limitations, weather interference, theft, tampering, or technical failure. KCPSR does not guarantee uninterrupted camera monitoring.
Some KCPSR cat recovery services are owner-assisted. The Client may be responsible for maintaining the trap and recovery zone as instructed.
Owner responsibilities may include:
Failure to follow instructions may reduce the chance of recovery and may affect whether KCPSR continues or extends the recovery effort.
The Client acknowledges that humane traps may capture wildlife, neighborhood cats, or other non-target animals.
Non-target animals may include raccoons, opossums, skunks, squirrels, feral cats, community cats, or other animals. These animals may bite, scratch, spray, carry disease, or create safety risks.
The Client agrees not to handle dangerous wildlife in an unsafe manner and agrees to contact KCPSR, animal control, wildlife professionals, or appropriate local resources when needed.
KCPSR is not responsible for injury, damage, odor, contamination, property damage, wildlife conflict, or third-party issues caused by wildlife or non-target animals.
The monitoring period and trap deployment period depend on the selected service, checkout page, invoice, written quote, or approved field agreement.
Some services may include a defined monitoring window after deployment. If a camera captures confirmed activity of the missing cat, KCPSR may recommend continuing, modifying, or extending the recovery plan depending on the case.
Continued services, extended monitoring, additional traps, additional cameras, return scans, or additional deployments may require separate approval and additional fees.
If the Client wishes to continue trapping, monitoring, or recovery support beyond the original service period, KCPSR may offer an extension when equipment and scheduling allow.
Extension fees, additional monitoring fees, additional trap/camera fees, and return deployment fees are controlled by the service checkout, invoice, written quote, or approved agreement at the time of extension.
Extensions are not guaranteed and may be declined if KCPSR determines continued service is unsafe, impractical, unavailable, or unlikely to assist the recovery effort.
Fees are earned for dispatch, consultation, scheduling, travel, equipment utilization, search time, trap setup, camera setup, monitoring support, field planning, and operational effort. Fees are not based on a guaranteed result.
Failure to locate, identify, trap, capture, or recover the cat does not negate earned fees.
The exact service selected, payment amount, cancellation terms, return services, extensions, and add-on fees are controlled by the service checkout, invoice, written quote, or payment page used by the Client at the time of booking.
Because emergency cat recovery services require scheduling, preparation, travel planning, equipment reservation, and availability, cancellation fees may apply.
Cancellation terms are controlled by the selected service, checkout page, invoice, written quote, or written communication at the time of booking.
KCPSR may reschedule, delay, modify, or decline services when weather, safety, legal access, airspace, equipment availability, or operational conditions make deployment unreasonable.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that trap placement, camera placement, search activity, and property access are legally authorized.
KCPSR may require permission before entering private property, deploying equipment, or conducting search operations. KCPSR does not have legal authority to enter restricted areas, trespass, force access, remove property, or override local rules.
The Client is responsible for communication with neighbors, landlords, property managers, HOAs, or property owners when permission is required.
Traps, cameras, covers, batteries, baiting containers, and related equipment remain the property of KCPSR unless otherwise stated in writing.
The Client agrees not to move, alter, damage, disable, remove, or allow others to interfere with KCPSR equipment unless instructed.
The Client is responsible for reasonable care of equipment placed on their property or property where they have authorized placement. Fees may apply for equipment damaged, lost, stolen, moved, or tampered with due to Client action, unauthorized handling, or failure to follow instructions.
The Client acknowledges that missing cat recovery involves uncertainty and risk, including but not limited to:
KCPSR is not responsible for injury, loss, disappearance, escape, death, behavioral change, or failure of recovery occurring before, during, or after services, except where liability cannot be waived under applicable law.
KCPSR provides missing pet recovery assistance only. KCPSR does not provide veterinary care, wildlife control, animal control, law enforcement, shelter intake, adoption services, medical diagnosis, emergency medical services, or legal authority to seize or remove animals.
If a recovered cat appears injured, sick, dehydrated, trapped in a dangerous area, or in need of medical care, the Client is responsible for contacting a veterinarian, emergency veterinary hospital, animal control, or appropriate emergency resource.
KCPSR does not guarantee location, identification, capture, containment, return, survival, health, or recovery of any missing cat.
KCPSR makes no guarantee that a trap will catch the missing cat, that a camera will detect the cat, that thermal equipment will locate the cat, or that a located cat can be safely recovered.
No verbal statement, estimate, recommendation, text message, phone call, field comment, or website statement shall be interpreted as a guarantee of outcome.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Client releases, indemnifies, and holds harmless KC Pet Search & Rescue, KC Aerial Vision LLC, its owners, operators, contractors, affiliates, representatives, and agents from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, injuries, losses, expenses, or demands arising from or related to the recovery attempt, search operation, trap deployment, camera deployment, thermal search, owner-directed actions, property access, wildlife encounters, non-target animals, field conditions, animal behavior, or use of equipment, except in cases of proven gross negligence or willful misconduct.
This Agreement may be incorporated into the checkout, invoice, payment, booking, or service request process. The Client must actively acknowledge and accept these terms by selecting the required agreement box, submitting a form, authorizing payment, accepting a quote, or otherwise confirming acceptance prior to deployment.
Deployment may be delayed or declined if the Client does not acknowledge and accept this Agreement.
This document constitutes the entire agreement between the parties regarding the limited-scope cat recovery services described.
The Client acknowledges they have read, understood, and voluntarily agreed to these terms prior to deployment.
