From sharing approved missing-pet alerts to introducing families to professional recovery resources, Digital Outreach Team members help make sure people know where to turn when a pet disappears.

This is the mission you are helping carry into Kansas City neighborhoods, groups, and community pages.
Missing-pet families often begin their search on Facebook, neighborhood apps, rescue pages, shelter pages, and local community groups. The information they find during those first hours can shape everything that follows.
The KCPSR Digital Outreach Team helps distribute accurate, approved information without creating confusion or interfering with an active recovery plan.
Members help extend the reach of KC Pet Search & Rescue while protecting pet owners, private information, and the integrity of each recovery.
Digital Outreach Team members may help with any of the following, depending on the case, the platform, and the assignment.
Most Digital Outreach assignments can be completed from a phone and do not require a fixed schedule.
Digital Outreach Team members may know about a missing pet before KC Pet Search & Rescue does.
When you encounter a family that may need professional help, your role is simple: introduce them to KC Pet Search & Rescue and direct them to the appropriate contact or intake page.
Members should not diagnose a case, recommend a specific paid service, quote prices, promise availability, or guarantee an outcome.
Approved referral language

Community referrals are not automatically paid referrals, employment, or sales-agent relationships. Any separate formal referral program is governed by its own published terms — see the KCPSR Referral Partner Program.
Digital Outreach Team members should not have to write recovery instructions from scratch.
Share the current information. Protect the family. Follow the case instructions.
This is not a field-recovery role. Members do not become emergency responders, case managers, employees, or authorized recovery specialists.
Digital Outreach members support the recovery plan. They do not take control of it.
Kansas City has hundreds of lost-and-found pet groups, city pages, neighborhood groups, rescue pages, shelter pages, and local community networks. Digital Outreach Team members can help KCPSR maintain a more useful picture of where public information should be shared.
Respect Facebook group administrators and posting rules. Digital Outreach membership never overrides another community’s rules or gives permission to spam groups.
Members select the areas they know best. You will only be asked about places where your share actually carries weight.
Members should not be expected to share every alert. Geographic and platform preferences are respected to prevent alert fatigue.
The first members will help KC Pet Search & Rescue test approved sharing materials, identify useful community groups, strengthen referral paths, and build a sustainable digital outreach process.
As the team grows, this section will report what Digital Outreach actually accomplished — not estimates, and not projections.

Public listing is always optional. Telephone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, private profiles, and private case activity are never displayed.
As the team grows, KC Pet Search & Rescue will need trusted members who can help coordinate approved campaigns across Kansas City.
Shares approved content and completes assignments that fit their location and platforms.
Helps identify good sharing locations, supports new members, and consistently follows case instructions.
Helps coordinate approved campaigns, review community coverage, assist team members, and report outdated or conflicting public information.
Leadership must be earned or invitation-based. It is not automatically granted through the signup form.
