KC Pet Search & Rescue · Kansas City Metro

Trusted Pet Recovery Partners Across Kansas City

Bringing a lost pet home almost never comes down to one person. It takes owners, shelters, animal control officers, rescue groups, veterinary clinics, trainers, professional trappers, neighborhood pages, and search teams all working from the same information.

KC Pet Search & Rescue coordinates thermal drone search, ground search, and lost cat camera support across the Kansas City metro. This page is where we connect that work to the local organizations and specialists families rely on every day.

Why the network matters

Lost Pets Do Not Respect City Limits

A dog that slips a leash in Overland Park can be reported in Lenexa, picked up in Olathe, and posted in a Kansas City, Missouri Facebook group by morning. Every one of those handoffs is a place a case can stall. A connected network keeps the information moving with the pet.

Faster information sharing

A sighting reported to one group reaches the people who can act on it, instead of sitting in a comment thread nobody is monitoring.

Better owner guidance

Owners hear consistent, behavior-based advice on their first call, rather than conflicting instructions from five different sources.

Coordinated sightings

Scattered reports get plotted into a movement pattern, so search effort goes where the pet actually is instead of where it was first lost.

Fewer duplicated efforts

Two teams searching the same block on the same night helps nobody. Coordination means wider coverage from the same volunteer hours.

Who can become a partner

If Lost Pets Reach You, You Belong in the Network

Partners are Kansas City area organizations and specialists who regularly encounter missing pets, found pets, or the families searching for them.

If your organization is a fit We add you to the directory on this page with a link to your site, and start sending relevant sightings, referrals, and owner questions your way.
If you have an active case right now Do not wait on this form. Call 913-915-2800 or open the Lost Pet Command Center so the search can start today.
Your information We use what you submit to reach you about the partner network. Only the organization details you ask us to publish appear on this page.
This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

To the people helping lost pets every day

Thank You for Serving Kansas City’s Lost Pet Community

Recovering lost pets takes an enormous amount of time, patience, and emotional energy. Behind every reunion are people willing to answer late-night calls, monitor sightings, set traps, share posts, transport animals, walk neighborhoods, and steady an owner who is barely holding it together.

KC Pet Search & Rescue is grateful to every volunteer, rescue organization, trapper, foster, shelter worker, animal control officer, veterinary team, and neighbor helping reunite lost pets across Kansas City. That work matters more than most people will ever see.

Where to post a missing pet

Kansas City’s Lost Pet Facebook Group Directory

One of the first things an owner hears is “post it on Facebook.” That only helps if they know where to post. Partners can send owners straight here.

Facebook posts spread the word. Organized recovery brings direction.

KC Pet Search & Rescue built this directory so Kansas City area owners can find the right lost and found pet groups, county posting resources, and city pages without losing a day to guesswork.

The strongest recovery effort uses both. Groups spread the pet’s photo. A structured plan turns the resulting sightings, comments, and messages into a search that actually goes somewhere.

Lost Pet Recovery Works Better When Kansas City Works Together

No single team covers every neighborhood, answers every call, or catches every sighting. A connected metro does. If your organization touches lost pets in the Kansas City area, there is a place for you in this network.
