The videos above show real lost-dog searches completed by KC Pet Search & Rescue. Each mission is different, but the goal is always the same: locate the dog, understand how it is moving, and help create the safest possible path back to its owner.
Thermal drone support can help cover large rural properties, open fields, wooded edges, and difficult terrain more efficiently than a ground search alone. Once a dog is located, careful tracking and owner coordination may be just as important as the search itself.
Search the most likely areas using aerial visibility, thermal tools, recent sightings, and the dog’s direction of travel.
Maintain awareness of the dog’s position and movement while avoiding unnecessary pressure that could push it farther away.
Coordinate the final approach with the owner and create the best opportunity for a calm, controlled reunion.
